Nov.9th 2014-Family on Mission-The Four Spaces

In this message we look at the “4 spaces” (public, social, personal, intimate) that humans use to develop connection, significance and belonging; and how Jesus models the value and function of each.  With Jesus as our model, we then look to how his example is instructive for our understanding of how we can invest in and steward the “4 spaces” in our lives, to see his Kingdom breakthrough.

Family on Mission: The Four Spaces of life

November 9th, 2014 by Kasey Crawford

The mission of Elevation: We are _____________ to be a family of followers of Jesus doing life together to see the Kingdom of Heaven transform earth.

There are 4 “spaces” that humans use to develop connection, significance and _______________. Jesus models the value of each.

Public Space: is 75+ people, gathering for encouragement and inspiration that you are part of a team/tribe with an important “_________________”-a connecting story.

proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease …and great crowds followed him. Mark 4:23,25

Social Space: is a group of 20-50 that can grow to be extended family to one another (Oikos). It is a place where ______________ is found and it is small enough to care but large enough to dare to make a difference on mission. “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” Mark 3:34–35

Personal space: is usually about 6-12 people, where we connect through sharing private experiences, feelings, and thoughts and receiving healthy _________________.   He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything. Mark 4:33

Intimate space: is where two people share “_____________ truth” feelings, thoughts and experiences and yet the two are “not ashamed.”

And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled. 34 And he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Mark 14:33

What is God saying to YOU?…

On a scale of 1-10, how well are you stewarding each “space”?
