Today’s Passages: Matt 7:12-14, Gal. 5:17-21, Mark 10:24-30, Phil. 3:8

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.                                                          Matthew 7:12–14

The Easy Road is called such because it takes little ____________ on our part to live like this.

The Hard Road is called such because there is a ________ going on inside and outside that threatens to knock us off this path.

When we live with a dependence on God’s Holy Spirit there is a ______________ level of living that we can walk in, unlike on our own.

The Hard Road leads to…

love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, humility, honesty, mercy, integrity, generosity, hope, reconciliation, justice…

The Easy Road leads to…

pride, greed, revenge, sexual immorality, corruption, indecency, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness,…

*list from Matthew 5-7 and Galatians 5:17-21

How do you know which road you are choosing?

  1. Look at the _________ of your life.

Ask yourself:   “Am I living ___________ the line or ________ the line?”

(see graphic above)

  1. If you don’t feel the _______________ you aren’t walking the hard and narrow road. (But, but we don’t ___________ in the sacrifice)

This passage has a great principle of the Kingdom way of life:

the way is hard that leads to life”

There is a ___________ for the purpose of new life.

There is _____________ in the midst of challenge.

There is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time… Mark 10:29

Whatever you sacrifice for Him will be returned _____ _____ in this life

I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:8

The more we walk this narrow road, the more our focus will shift from the _______________ and sacrifice to the __________ found in Christ.

Living as a Disciple in the Kingdom…

What is God saying to you?

What are you going to do about it?

*answers: effort, war, higher, fruit, above, below, sacrifice, glory, dying, promise, 100 fold, difficulty, gain
