Today’s Passage: Acts 1:12-2:4

“All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer… And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind…And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 1:14, 2:2,4

_________ in the body precedes power in the Spirit.

“One accord” literally means “with the same _________ or __________”

Unity in the body is the ____________of the Holy Spirit

The family of God is like an electrical cable with many strands, each carrying a ________ measure of electricity that when bound together in “one accord” create the possibility for a _________ ______ of electricity.

If we allow wedges between us in the body of Christ then we are breaking the connection that will bring the power of the Spirit in our midst.

How do we get united when we are not?

Jesus teaches that unity is forged through healthily communicated __________.

Jesus shows us a 3 step process that is meant to be a __________ rhythm of our relationships in order to forge unity and ___________ united.

Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, 4 and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”  Luke 17:3–4

The truth may be “hard” but it doesn’t have to be “harsh.”                                                                                                                                    -Dann Farrelly

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,  Ephesians 4:15

A hugely important phrase of brave communication to speak the truth in love:  “help me understand where you were coming from when _______, because I felt ________, when _________.”

  1. 2.     ___________

Repent is not a dirty word. It simply means “To ________ or __________ your thinking.”  It actually should be good news, knowing that life gets better and better as you come more into ____________ with God’s ways.

“Judge not, that you be not judged…3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?   Matthew 7:1–3

Instead of focusing on trying to point out other people’s issues, we should humbly __________ that there is ________ way we can line up better with God’s ways the next time around.

  1. __________

The basis of my hope in life is that through Jesus, God doesn’t treat my according to what my sins deserves but showers me with love and goodness instead.  And the more that becomes real to us, the more we will be able to not treat others as they deserve but have the love and grace to extend in forgiveness.
