Review

The Sermon on the Mount is where Jesus sets forth a vision for a whole new way of life that is possible through following him- a life lived in God’s kingdom. The “kingdom” is when God’s will is done on earth as it is in heaven. We “grab hold” of the kingdom through repentance (turning) and faith (action).

So the two most important questions in the life of a disciple are:

“What is ________ _____________ to me? (Repentance)”

“What am _____ going ______ about it? (Faith)”

New

”You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”            Matthew 5:13-16

Jesus is talking about what is often called _________________.

Evangelism literally means “___________ _________ing” someone

Salt

From followers of Jesus, people are supposed to get a ___________ of what life in the Kingdom is like.

Light

In a sometimes dark world, lives that demonstrate the kingdom can shine as a _______ of _________________ of what the world can be and will be when God’s will is done.

What stands out in these verses loud and clear is that evangelism, sharing God’s good news, is done through _____________ that give people an ________________ with God’s kingdom.

Jesus teaches in the sermon on the mount that one of the most powerful ways of sharing of the good news is when people see an _____________ ______________ of God in your life.

We don’t have to _____________ it…we can just be _________ with what we’ve experienced.

Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. 5:16

God gets the glory because people look at your life and it demands an explanation _____________ ______ and your strength.

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  Matthew 7:24-27

As we make God the rock upon which we build our life, our lives will have a _______________ that will stand out as the ___________ of life rage around us.

Living as a Disciple in the Kingdom…
