June 1st 2014 by Kasey Crawford

Today’s Passages: Matt 6:25-34, 11:28-30; Psalm 127:1-2; Col 1:29

Victory over worry and anxiety begins for Jesus with the question: Who is __________ your life?

3 aspects in this passage that reveal who is building your life:

  1. Who __________ what you need? (v.25)
  2. In whose __________ do you live? (v.26)
  3. For whose __________ do you act? (v.31)

Jesus is saying: “You don’t want to try to be _______ of your life, its ___________.”

Jesus wants to offer freedom from this ____________ __________ of anxiety and invite his followers into a life of __________ __________.

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. 2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. Psalm 127:1-2

Who is building your life?

You = _________ ________

God = __________ ____________

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”                                                          Matthew 11:28–30

He wants to carry your heavy burdens so that you can be living out of a place of ________ ________ in God’s presence.

For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.                               Colossians 1:29

God is not saying be ________, He is inviting you to stop the anxious toil of building your own life and providing for yourself and instead trust that its His job to provide for you and _____________ you to live out the life He has __________ you to.

How do we live out this new way of life?

Trust that you are ___________ to God. (v.26)

Trust that God ________ what you need. (v.31-32)

Trust that God will ____________ what you need (v.28-30)

All this goes back to getting to know and trust God as _______ Father.

“seek first his kingdom and his righteousness”…Matt 6:33

Take action seeking to see his will accomplished which _________ us to be able to pray things like: “God I entrust the provision of my day into your hands. I thank you in advance that you want to and will provide for me.”

Take action by seeking to “live rightly”, that is, to live lined up with His will and His ways. Your life is not going to be abundantly blessed with God’s power and presence if you are __________ __________ how God created you to live.
