July 10th, 2011 Expectancy

This Sunday, July 10th was something special! We meet at Paloma Valley High School in the theater and this week our groundskeeper didn’t show up to let us into the buildings. So we had no theater for adults, no kids rooms….not even a bathroom. But did that stop us…..NO WAY! Brad Long went home and got his RV so we could have a bathroom and we used the outdoor pavilion area that we use for 3rd Sunday Brunch. We had shade, picnic benches and we even found one open electric outlet for coffee! No sound system, no Power Point. But we had people, so we had church. Oh yeah, and to top it off, Pastor Kasey was on vacation! Pastor Jesse, Ian, and Kyle pulled together an acoustic set for worship and then Pastor Jesse taught the message. The kids even got some time to hang out in the adjacent shaded area. All worked out great and God was for sure moving in our midst! To top it all off, Mark Manning was even able to capture the message on his iPhone so we could have it for Podcast.

July 10th

So that brings me to the message, which was on Expectancy. What would it look like if we expected God to show up and move in our everyday lives? Not just Sundays at church, but everyday in our families, at work, school or the soccer field. This teaching jumps around from Genesis to Corinthians to see how God’s faithfulness draws us into what an expectancy, trust, hope and faith in Him can be.
