December 16th , 2012  by Kasey Crawford

Today’s Passage: Acts 2:42-47

(Review) Acts 1-2:41

In the first chapter, the author (Luke) gives us a framework, a lens, through which to understand everything else that happens in the book, namely: you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses…to the end of the earth    Acts 1:8

(New) Acts 2:42-47

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42

What did they devote themselves to?

The early church devoted themselves to some simple, _____________   ____________ of life that helped them continue to go deeper in the experience of God in their life.

What we see in the Acts a church that is not busy, rushed, burned out….  We see a people investing in a new way of life of following Jesus to see heaven break in more and more through simple, intentional rhythms.

They ___________ to do a few important rhythms _______ and they did them over and over.

We want to __________ to do a few things ________ that bear great fruit, rather than fill ourselves with activities that don’t bear much fruit.

Today we are going to look at the rhythm of OUT:

pursuing to make an _________ for the Kingdom of God beyond ____________ by ___________ others with the gifts and passions God gives us.

Jesus modeled the rhythm of “OUT”:

“The Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”                                                                                                                                            Luke 19:10

Jesus regularly reached OUT to _________ __________.  Everywhere he went reached OUT to show the new way of life where heaven invades earth by the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.

Part of the identity of every follower of Jesus is that you will carry on Jesus’ ___________ of bringing the kingdom of heaven to this world.

You can rightly say that every follower of Jesus is a ______________.

The Disciples learned the rhythm of OUT from Jesus and taught it to the first church: (Acts 2:42-47)

“And they devoted themselves to” (OUT) through:

______________  “And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.” v.43

Miracles were ____________ to those who were hosting the presence of the supernatural power of God (the Holy Spirit) and that is why they can be normal for _______ too!

Have you devoted yourself to pursuing OUT through a demonstration of miracles?

___________ Lives-“And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” v. 47

Heaven is a good place to be, and when ___________ of it come to earth in and through your life people are going to be __________ to it.

Are you attracting people toward God with your life?

__________  “…having favor with all the people” v.47
