Today’s Passages: 1 Peter 1:3, Colossians 3:1-10, Romans 6-8

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.   1 Peter 1:3

We rejoice in this living hope of salvation through Jesus resurrection!

But are you living in the fullness of the resurrection ____________ that is available to you as God’s beloved child?

5 Promises of resurrection power that are yours in Christ!

Resurrection Power promise #1

I am no longer ____________ to sin.

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. 12 So then, brothers, we are under no obligation to the flesh to live in accordance with the flesh.                                                                                              Romans 8:11-12

The same Holy Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in ______!

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you…Colossians 3:1-10

God wants you to build a confidence in him that believes sin can be put to death and overcome! There is no ____________ sin that I’m just obligated to lose to for the rest of my life.

Resurrection Power promise #2

I can walk in ______________ of life.

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.                                                        Romans 6:3-4

Whatever was my old way of living, doesn’t have to ____________ me into the future.

Resurrection Power promise #3

I am no longer a ___________ to sin.

We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. 7 For one who has died has been set free from sin.

Romans 6:6-7

Resurrection Power promise #4

I consider myself __________ to sin.

We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him…11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

       Romans 6:9,11

Resurrection Power promise #5

Sin will not be my ____________

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.                                                                                  Romans 6:12-14
